Holiday Collection Schedule

Monterey City Disposal Service strives to maintain the same collection schedule year-round. However, some holidays, such as the Fourth of July, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving, require us to modify our schedule if they fall on a weekday. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.    

Note: Commercial customers and residential customers in a commercial area may not follow this schedule. Please call for your schedule.

Fall and Winter Holidays

Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year's Day

In observance of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, collection will be delayed by one day for customers whose regular collection day falls on a weekday or after these holidays.

Residential customers may place Christmas trees next to their yard waste cart for the first two weeks of the new year. Remove all decorations, stands, and lights. Trees under 6' tall do not need to be cut. Trees over 6' must be cut in half. After the first two weeks of the year, cut trees and place them in the yard waste cart.   

Spring and Summer Holidays

4th of July -  Normal Collection
